Experience and Levelling UpGaining ExperienceExperience Points are what are used to show your survivors skills at staying alive, the more you have, the better you are. So, gaining Experience is easy, all you have to do is Role-Play. The more you write (without rambling on about nothing), the more experience you get. This directly converts; one Experience Point per word of RP. Obviously, Out-of-Character chat is not counted. Experience is always gained at the end of a Topic, not halfway through.
Keeping Count of your ExperienceThe easiest way, and most advised way, of keeping count of your experience is to leave a word count at the end of each RP post. This is easy if following a similar format as this at the end of each post of RP:
Post Word Count: 49
Topic Word Count: 132
It is then useful to keep a total of your Experience Points in your signiture. Of course, you don't
have to, this is just a suggestion, not a mandatory rule.
(If you write 'Microsoft Word' or a similar software, it should give you a word count option so that you dont have to count the words per post yourself).
Levelling UpWhen you gain a certain sum of total Experience, you are then eligible to Level Up. By doing so, you gain access to a new skill slot to improve a current skill or gain a new one. As an added bonus, each time you Level Up, you ill also gain a Cash Bonus in BP (Bounty Points) to spend on weapons and/or equipment.
To gain these bonuses that you've earned, all you have to do is post in the 'Accepted Characters and Levelling' section under your character's Topic stating you are illegible to Level Up, which
Topics you gained this Experience with links, and what skill you're purchasing or upgrading, as well as any Shop purchases. Shop purchases can be done at anytime really, in a similar way to Levelling Up. See '
Bounty Points and Shopping', for more details.
